Hateful and judgemental acts toward others seem to be a growing  problem in the world today. With only 25% of adults perceiving that they live in a kind society, I’d argue we have an epidemic on our hands. But guess what? Kindness is contagious. It’s like a flu that we all need to spread, because one simple act has an effect on not only the receiver but on all who witness it, creating a ripple effect of kindness!

With that idea in mind, for my senior project at 7 Rivers Community High School, we would like to present “K.I.C Day,” a day where groups of students from 7 Rivers set out into the La Crosse area community to spread this “kindness virus.” From spending a day with our elders, and reading to elementary children, to making tie blankets for the homeless and cleaning up trash at our local neighborhood park, all in the hope to promote kindness in lots of different ways! Seeing that when we all become a little less self-centered and start to think of others first, we then start to become a more happier and stronger community as a whole.

be the motivation for others in our community to be more kind to others and to most importantly spread love not hate because in the end…
